 “Family Pick Up Hockey"

for all ages!

"Begginer's Pick Up Hockey" is a fun non competitive pick up game for begiining youth and adults.  The goal is for an enjoyable atmosphere for a low key slow play rec hockey game for all ages. Fathers and Sons, Brothers and Sisters, Mom and Daughter, Grandpa and Uncle Steve!  Heck, just bring the whole family!  Anyone who can skate and wants to play can drop in. Just like at the neighborhood park in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  All players must wear full gear including full face shield for children less than 18 years of age.  The low key spirit of play is important.  There will be no slap shots and no contact of any kind. There's no scoreboard and no scouts in the stands.  Please play to create an enjoyable on ice experience for all those around you..

Anyone can "Learn To Play Hockey". Classes Thursday evenings. Approximately 8 weekly sessions  from 5:15pm to 6:15pm.  Join session at any time!  All ages invited. Call for details and to sign up for this great "learn To Play" program! Our NHL sized ice arena is ready for your enjoyment and instruction. Sherwood Ice Arena hosts the largest adult hockey program in the Northwest.  We have over 52 teams playing in 7 separate divisions.  Whether you are new to hockey or a pro, we have a league home for you!

 

Whether you are a beginner or advanced, private ice skating lessons are a great way to enhance your skating and/or hockey skills.  Our group lessons also teach beginning through advanced skating.  We offer both Figure Skating and Hockey skating instruction.

All of Sherwood Ice Arena Figure Skating coaches belong to the Professional Skating Association and the Ice Skating Institute. 

 

Ice Skating continues to be one of the best forms of exercise you can get!

This Summer you will see a new Fireworks stand and amusment rides in the SE corner of our parking area begining the week of June 21st.

Beginning Monday June 21st – weekday morning Freestyle sessions will begin at 6:00am through the summer months. Session times are M,W,T,F 6:00-7:00, 7:00-8:00, and 8:15-9:15am. Tuesday’s from 6:00-6:30 half price, and 8:15-9:15am.

Beginning June 21st – Sherwood Skating Academy will be on the ice weekdays from 8:45am – 9:15am through August 20th.

No morning 9:30am – 11:30am Public Session Monday June 21st through Friday June 25th due to our SIA High skating camp.

No morning 9:30am – 11:30am Public Session Monday July 26th through Wednesday July 28th due to our SIA low skating camp.

Afternoon Public Session will begin at 3:30pm on Monday July 26th through Friday July 30th due to Twist Hockey camp.

Join us Saturday June 26th for a customer appreciation BBQ from 11:00am – 3:00pm. Free hot dogs and soda!

A new program added to our Spring and Summer schedule is: Family Recreation Beginners Pick Up Hockey from 11:15am - 12:45pm on Sunday mornings. All ages invited. Spots have filled up quickly the first few weeks. Please call ahead and reserve you spot by calling 503 625 5757. $12. Goalies play free, but they can not reserve thier spots.

We are closed the 4th of July.

July 10th SIA will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary. A special public session that day where admission will only be two for $10! Ten cent cookies and hot dogs too! Come join us and celebrate.
